Jenscott - I might be interested in some of your turkey poulets but it would be about the 2nd week of June.

VeryCherry - I will have to check my cuckoo maran chicks to see if any of the feathered legs are roos. Mine are Ray Valentine Lines if that means anything to you. I bought eggs from eggbid but have heard about his lines later.

Parson's Wife - I wish I was close to Prairie Grove because I would love to go to the class

Julie - I'm sorry you had to sell your chicks. My DH won't get to go to camp this year so he's taking care of the animals. We normally have a neighbor or someone from the church.

Welcome!! I lost a lot of blood once in Greenville! We spent the night there on our way home from Florida and we went out to the pool after dark. Mosquitoes about ate me alive.

Ok, I got my cockerel! Thanks for all your well wishes!

Here's what happened in a nutshell.

No flight that would take lives, so he was sent back, BUT Bev was in a JURY, and couldn't take calls of course, so couldn't pick him up. Late that night, Patty, a lady at the PO called her hubby who works at the main plant and mentioned what happened, that the cockerel was STILL there with no one to come get him. Her hubby said "Uh-uh, noooo, they can't just leave him. Take him and get him some food and water, and then drive him out here (an hour away) and I'll make sure he gets a flight out." Well, he did! He got him on a plane, and I don't know what route he took but he didn't arrive in LR until late last night, so he probably had several transfers and some down time. Then he went to Hot Springs early in the morning and he arrived in Arkadelphia around 6 a.m. this morning. Whew!!! Let me tell you he was feed up and was trying to break out of that box! I gave him an very ripe peach and he gobbled it up. He's doing fine now and is getting used to his new home. I've been a nervous wreck!

One thing I'm sure of, Patty and her hubby are good people.

Amanda, any sign of your quail?

Well, my LG bator is officially full! I've got 13 eggs I got from Amanda, 4 Light Brahma crosses that the neighbor asked me to put in, 2 banty eggs, 10 of my cuckoo maran eggs, 6 guinea eggs, 8 silkie eggs that I got today from the Crazy Egg Chain swap, and 1 duck egg. The silkie eggs should hatch around the 20th with my guinea and duck eggs. The rest of them are due to hatch on the 13th. The duck egg is so cool. I've been candling it the last 3 nights and have been watching the growth!

Now that my bator is full, I don't know what I will do if I want to hatch other eggs.
