I am using a LG bator that I traded some Turkens for. I got an egg turner for our anniversary
. The weather has been so varied that it has beenhard to keep a steady temp. I t did ok for the first 4 days but since then I have had to adjust it daily. TJ discovered that I get really riled up if he touches it and that has led to him over in the corner PRETENDING to touch it when I am looking and really trying to knock it around when I am not looking.
I am still trying to get Tommy to build an incubator that would self adjust but he is still working on the runs to seperate the Marans.
Scot I would say most of these eggs are from the girls you gave us. Out of the 3 chicks that Domino has left 2 of them are from the Welsummer and they are very pretty. If they are girls it will be neat to see what kind of egg they lay cause Daddy is and Ameracauna roo that I bought from Penny Sikes.
Plumtuckered, my husban said that if you would take care of his watermelon needs (he loves them) He will take care of your deer problem
This is my first garden and first chickens ever! I am so happy that everything is going so well. My bell pepper has two little ones that look like peas now and my squash is about three inches long. Im going to faint when I find my first egg!!!

Just let me know and they're yours!! My Marans are laying eggs that look alot like the Welsummer and those chicks eggs should throw alot of color also.
Wow, you guys have been chatty! It took me a while to get caught up.
Welcome Urban Dreamer, good to see you Dustin!
Wish I could give you all one of these good chocolate chip muffins I just made, yum...like I need them!
I need to be doing laundry, just stopped by to say hello. HELLO!!!
Any ideas yet on where the next meetup will be?
Oh, and I still have Easter Egger pairs for sale if anyone needs any, and a few of the females will be laying soon, so you'd get your money back out of them real quick. They're just $10.00 a pair for the older ones. $6 a pair for the smaller ones. I need to advertise these, I keep forgetting!
Also have a Partridge Cochin cockerel, large bird, almost a rooster, standard not bantam. I was asking $20.00 but I'd come down, especially if you buy a pair of EE's to go with him, lol!
And a RIR mix cockerel....looks like a New Hampshire Red really. Almost grown, cheep!
AND MORE!
Oh, I do have some cute Silkies for sale too....just keep forgetting to offer them for sale. They're almost laying breeding age as well.
Ohhhhh! And a Sultan male, bantam, almost grown too!
LOL, I spent half my day today watching chickens and got a sunburn. They are so funny when they take thier dust baths. I couple more hours and I'll lock'em in the coop tonight. Im one nervous mother, wish us luck!!!

I can totally relate. I used to walk down to the coop (at least 60 yards from the house) in the middle of the night to check on them (in the boonies) when I first started keeping chickens! I spent sooo much time with them, lol! I still do, but lots more time working and less time just watching, since I have so many now.
Good luck, and I hope you get as much enjoyment out of them as I have mine.
We have a very active yard between the chickens, the Dursleys (our squirrels) and the cats. I was showing some guest a video clip of our cat and one of the squirrels fussing and then the lil banty roo got involved and it got even more amusing from there . I tried to turn it off and no one would let me. We love spending time out there.
