Arkansas folks speak up.........

Congrats on the first egg. It's unusual for a hen to lay two in one day, but I guess it could happen.

Question for everyone: I saw on Craigslist where a guy is selling two incubators. One has a turner, both are fan incubators. He said he'll sell both for $100.00 total. I was thinking of getting them to resell, maybe keep one and sell one. Do you think it's a good deal? He didn't know the models for some reason. Also, if anyone else on here wants to get them, then jump right in. I don't really need another one, I was just looking into reselling.

Awesome news! Glad she is doing a little better, and congrats on the 2 eggs. I seriously doubt they both came from the same bird. I would be willing to bet real money that each of them laid an egg. Which would mean she is just playing up her injury when you are around for more attention

Sounds like she is on the road to recovery!

I go to the Indian Hill Kroger

That's the one we go to as well

Julie if those incubators work and are in good shape, I would say it's a heck of a deal . I might have jumped on it a month ago, but I just built a heck of a bator. It sounds like he is getting out of the chicken business since he said in the ad that he would also include all his empty egg cartons.

LOL I love that Kroger. I am more confinent that she will be ok. Neither eggs were there last night so they were both layed today. Ask any employee if they know Brandi, Redd and thier crew. They're my in-laws!!! We practically own that store. My best friend works there too. I hope Eva will be ok. I feel better thinking that she laid. And Zoii is some kindof protective. We opened the front door to the coop and she went crazy.

I just need to calm down an take everything one step at a time.

Nikki, Think twice about force feeding a chicken anything. It is SO easy to have it go down the "wrong pipe" into their lungs and kill them. If you can get her interested in it by tapping it with your finger (simulating a beak) and making excited chicken noises, that is way better. It won't hurt to share it with the other hen, sometimes that gets them interested also.

So glad she is feeling better.

You got the right idea, just take a "chill pill" :cool Chickens are resilient if nothing else, but I still think she is playin up the injury for extra lovin. I know how to spot it, cuz that's what I do when my wife is around

good point. I don't think you would have to anyway, mine go nuts over yogurt. They all surround it and the stuff starts flying everywhere, looks like a pack of velociraptors from Jurassic park

If she likes it as much as she likes fried rice and left over oatmeal, she will hop right over. My hubby dose the same thing when he is sick. He's so pittiful, and I ignore it. First step, go to the store get some yogurt and take care of my girl. And then get some sleep because I am exhausted! I need to quit being so chicken about my chickens.
