Not sure where he slept last night (I checked all the fences and low-hanging branches) but this morning at 8 oclock he was in my neighbor's back yard. Great, he'll stay close to the others I thought (escaped hens always do) and went back to bed, so I could sleep in on my day off. Ha Ha Ha
After I got dressed and went out he was gone again! Me and DH walked around the neighborhood and DH found him about 5 houses down, at the "cat lady's" house, surrounded by cats no less. They came out in their PJ's to watch me catch him!
Unfortunately, he tried to flog my FIL the other day so I just recently gave him an attitude adjustment. Instead of coming up to my legs, he kept his distance from me. I was finally able to grab him by one leg and maneuver him into the "football hold" where he was calm until we got to our gate. As soon as he knew he was back home he wanted down NOW. lol
First thing he did was run over and claim Penny, the black sexlink pullet. Now I KNOW she's about to lay if the experienced rooster is after her. When I went to lock up tonight, Mr. Rooster was in the coop as he should be. He was sleeping next to Penny instead of his old flame, Queenie. Maybe Queenie is being bumped out of the #1 rooster's favorite position. Might be a good thing cos she was about to need a hen saddle, but they were best buds so I dunno how she's gonna feel about this.
Talk about a soap opera in my back yard!!!!!!!
