Ascites Draining

Glad you got the job done. Did this seem to help her breathing and opening her beak? Let us know how she is doing tomorrow.
Her beak is definitely not open as often as it was, she has pooped 2 times and I will attach a picture of her most recent one. I’m thinking that she is a little dull because she hasn’t been getting much sleep due to this discomfort of her full abdomen which is now decreased so now she is sleeping in peace, just an idea but I don’t want to take any chances.

Yes. Try to get at least one fourth cup into her. Do you know how to syringe safely? Look at the photo below. Slide the syringe along the right side of her mouth going under the side of the tongue as a guide to avoid the airway in the center of the throat.

I’ve always been a little nervous to do that since I can never open her mouth for that long. I usually drop some in her mouth and lift her head high to help her get it down.
I can definitely try it though, is it safe to do that so many times with a 1 ml syringe?

I’m slowly getting her to drink some, can you remind me how to tube feed so I can do it in the morning.

Which side do I go down and just other tips to make sure I do it right

Thank you!
How much should I tube feed into her tomorrow? Like what’s a good range?
