Attaching Hardware Cloth to Run

Hi everyone! My run is made out of an outdoor dog kennel with the kind of fencing pictured below. I just ordered a bunch of hardware cloth to make it more secure. My question is, what is the best way to attach the hardware cloth to the fence? Tying with metal wire? Hog ties? I’m open to anything lol. Thanks!

Zip ties, galvanized steel wire or hog rings.Personally I've used all three depending on what I had available and how much wire I was attaching.I used hog rings and bands years ago when I made some cat tunnels and never used them again.There were difficult and time consuming because I didn't have the correct clamping tool.

You might also consider making an apron by putting some hardware cloth around the bottom/on the ground to secure it from any digging predators. I think that would be attached the same way you attach to sides, just make sure it comes out at least 18 inches (24in is better) all the way around, especially corners. It's extra work, but great insurance!

Hog rings or metal wire ties would be my choice. All my HWC is hog ringed onto the chain link, just make sure to get the pliers intended for use on hog rings and 1/2" HWC (you can't fit the pliers through 1/4"). It may take a bit of practice at first but once you get the hang of it you can get a lot done in a day.

Hog rings for sure. Amazon has the pliers and stainless steel hog rings. Get a good pair of the pliers. It makes it a lot easier on you.

I haven't used hog rings, but they probably are the best.

I have used zip ties, and they have worked VERY well for me. No failures of any kind, 3.5 years in.

We picked up some 8" extreme weather cable ties from Lowes. They did soften a bit in the direct sun over the summer, but seem to be holding up pretty well. If you're not intending to use vinyl or pvc coated hardware cloth, the hog rings that others are suggesting will probably blend in and look the best as well.

I attached mine with the chain link ties....they come in a bag of 50 for a few bucks. They are easy to deal with and work very good.

Haven't used another hog ring since discovering how fast hc can be attached with zip ties.
No regrets!

Zip ties, here - I used some metal ones and some heavy duty plastic. They are working great so far. I used garden stakes to secure the hardware cloth skirting to the ground.
