I was sold a dark Brahma “pullet” by Tractor supply but recently discovered she is a he. At what point did your Brahma Roo start crowing? I know they develop later than other breeds. Little dude is 9.5 weeks old today but hasn’t shown any vocalizing yet.

Mine didn't start until...4-5 moths old? Maybe longer. Luckily, mine didn't crow often and had a deeper crow... once puberty left. Before that, it sounded like someone murdering goats underwater.

Oh good! Thank you! They are so majestic looking!! And that’s good to know we’ve got some time. Omg I LOL’d at your description before puberty hahahahah

The more I look into it I do think it is a Brahma. The birds I did find with feathered feet typically don’t have yellow toes (except Cochin) but I think the coloring, size, demeanor, lines up most with brahmas. I did a
Have another person comment on a previous post of mine (trying to decide if it was a Roo or pullet) and she said her dark Brahma Roo looked just like mine did coloring wise. So maybe it’s atypical coloring for brahmas but still a possibility?

Newbie to looking at combs. Mine is bottom right. I copied and included other dark Brahma rooster pics up close. I see it looks different from the top right one but I feel like when it’s older it could look like the top left one???
Oh, yeah, okay. I thought he had a single comb. The comb should look more correct as he gets older
