I went out this am. At least one hatched and fluffed under mom. Several pips externally. She moved every egg and baby to the corner of the box and was staring at two left in the middle. They both had pipped. I don’t know if she was in the process of moving them I’m sure but I put them under her I wanted to make sure there was something there and she hadn’t destroyed it all.

Saw progress on a pip at mamas 5 pm break yesterday, and since then she hasn’t moved a feather.

She is a first timer I think the baby freaked her out a bit but she has the other eggs to sit on. Makes me think I should have left the eggs with her for a bit when I tried to put the babies under her originally. At least for a little bit.

She is now tucked into the corner of her box, haven’t seen her move on the camera. Been staying away but I’ll go check soon.

Huh, thought that the rumples gene had been bred out of the Ameraucanas from their Auracana ancestors? Not sure why it would cause pasty butt?

Could be a coincidence... they have plenty of water, and practically no competition for heat, 3 chicks under an ecoglow 20... just an observation. It could also be some other genetic fluke? I’ll try for some pictures later today.

Not yettttttt. This ones been out since overnight, it’s totally dry and fluffed up. Moms quite a bit hot today, and this one is moving around a lot, so I brought food and some Nutri drench water close for mom. I’m hoping this way the baby learns and mom lets it venture without getting up. It certainly doesn’t need mom for heat right now. I saw her readjust and it looks like one zip under there.

Moms gorging on food and water. Is all I did make her need to get up and poop?
