August Hatch-A-Long

Pics
Here’s an updated photo from my Aug 1 hatch, the Partridge Brahma with the eye issue. Turns out that she has gotten a little more of her eye visible, so I’m curious if she can see anything at all from there.

She isn’t at all like the Brahma that’s clearly a boy, so I hope she stays a she. :fl

None of the other 19 chicks pick on her so far.

Wow, I've never seen anything like that before but I'm so glad you're giving her a chance! I've seen a rooster with one eye that would high step when he walked because of poor visibility, it was actually kind of cute and he thrived otherwise so I'm sure she will too!

Not yettttttt. This ones been out since overnight, it’s totally dry and fluffed up. Moms quite a bit hot today, and this one is moving around a lot, so I brought food and some Nutri drench water close for mom. I’m hoping this way the baby learns and mom lets it venture without getting up. It certainly doesn’t need mom for heat right now. I saw her readjust and it looks like one zip under there.

Moms gorging on food and water. Is all I did make her need to get up and poop?

Awwww! The other end of that little leg is adorable!!!!:love:pop

It had a small amount of medicated feed and boiled egg. It wasnt happy that it wasnt with its mama so I took it back out to the coop to be with her. Here it is today out and about with mama. It's hard to see the little thing. So cute.
So sweet!!!:love Congratulations on the speedy recovery!!!:celebrate

Wild!!! Can you tell if she has vision from that eye? Wondering if the problem is with lids or lids plus globe...

Here is my one and only chick. Was a disastrous hatch, I've got two more eggs due tomorrow, but I am not hopeful. I am moving it into the coop brooder today where my 6 week old chicks are, so at least it has company. They are out of the brooder and with the adults now. Being the sucker for punishment, that I am....I'm going to try again!

So sorry about the disappointment!

We'll see what happens with sticky man. He is literally half the size of the rest of his hatch mates. He's in there peeping up a storm under the heat plate while the others are running around. I brought out an egg yolk for him to try and perk him up. We shall see.

Also.... Getting eggs totally got nixed by hubby. :rant So I just gave my broody some of our eggs. It'll be interesting what comes of it. I have an olive egger roo and gave her eggs from an olive egger, Easter egger, maran cross and silkie hens.
