Quote: I had a hen break 2 eggs at different times on the same clutch....and she was distracted a lot so I put them in the incubator the little ones were born sick....one was bleeding from it's eyes and nose mouth...I can't do the deed so I ran it to my neighbor....don't won't to ever risk that horrible fate again!
All my eggs are silkies. Maybe I'll chirp to them some to stimulate themwhat kind of chickens laid the egg?
no you can't hear the chirping unless it's perfectly quiet...I'm very naught sometimes and tap the shells...don't you dare open that lid lol
I've got my pea that is lock down today but I'm trying not to hold out hope! they're hard to hatch and I just don't really feel good about this one!
yours are due Thursday so don't expect much until tomorrow...
Quote: the smaller ones sound like bantams...yes the bird will be about the size of you thumb
what are you using to measure the temp? I have 2 incubators that I had to buy different monitors because the ones that are attached to the lid are very inaccurateMy incubator temp always jumps upto 106during the last few nights before hatching. If I turn it down a tiny bit it takes a long time to drop, I'm worried it stays too high too long. It levels out for the most of the day. Then sometimes in the late afternoon it drops to 96. Do I leave it 106? Try to constantly adjust? The humidity is 65-75%.
