Goodness gracious! I have my last 10 eggs in the incubator, all due on the 21st. After that I am taking a hatching break...just too emotionally draining for me.the way I keep adding eggs I'll be hatching every few days the rest of the month!![]()

Hello all! I have golden sebrights and barnyard mixes due the 21st. Not much luck last hatch...5 out of 12. That was with broody. These are in bat or.
Question: I have set a total if 8 eggs from one of my hens. Different hatches, but same result. They start out fine, but around day 10-12 they start getting what looks to be a blood ring all the way around the egg. Any ideas what could be causing this? Could it be genetic?
I think paper towel is pretty easy - just pick up and toss. My question is how to keep the egg mess off the unhatched eggs? I'm debating about trying the egg carton method so that I might be able to keep other eggs away from each other.

My problem chickie died, made no progress absorbing the sack. I think there may have been issues with the sack but who knows. It had been wrapped around her leg with her leg over her head so who knows.
