What do you mean "dry hatch"? Is there no water while they are hatching?

Awe, that is ok though, I mean I have never dreamed of getting an incubator! Do you recommend buying hatching eggs?
I need some help. It's officially lockdown here in Graham, AL. But I'm having trouble keeping my humidity stable. It will go up to 82º and sit there for a while then drop to about 32º. I have a ReptiPro cabinet style, so there's no way to open and vent it to drop the humidity a bit. I fear this fluctuation may be the reason I had a shrink wrapped chick and a couple fully formed that didn't make it at all last month.
Hmmm. That much drop is strange. I cant imagine what would cause such drastic changes. You are propably right thiugh bim sure that much drop would cause shrink wrapping. Check all the seals (doors, lid, windows, etc.) to make sure you are mot loosing it there. The top window on my homemade hatcher was lifting on the edges just enough to kill humidity levels. I had to put weights on top of it to hold it down the best i could through lock down.I need some help. It's officially lockdown here in Graham, AL. But I'm having trouble keeping my humidity stable. All these hatching cuties are making me itchy for Wednesday to get here!!
I still have a bit over 2 weeks to go. This hatch will be my first in my new homemade cabinet incubater and with some pretty expensive eggs. 45 eggs total. This hatch will seem to take for-freekin-ever.Me too. I'm set for Tuesday/Wednesday hatch
I had been using a small wide dish with a wadded paper towel in it. When the humidity drops, it's out of water. I just went and got on of the shorter, round pint jelly jars and filled it with water. I will see how keeping more water in there with less surface area does. I don't want to lose these babies if I can help it. I'm assuming I'll need to keep an eye on the temp considering there's going to be a "glass of water" in there. I don't generally have problems with temp fluctuation unless I open the door to the bator.
There's no way to add water this way. It's a cabinet and doesn't have vent holes of any sort. The back has a forced air fan, to bring fresh air in, but that's it. :-(I get 2-3 bendy straws and stick them together and keep adding water that way. Then monitor it all day, if I time it usually depends on the hatch - in July I had to add every hour, when I modified my incubator I had to add humidity every 2-3 hours. having a clean dish cloth in there and adding water through the bendy straw helped.
