I’m now on day 12, and I’m concerned that one of my eggs isn’t growing. Out of eight total eggs, I have 7 that look like this:

Is this one a dud?
Day 12 it should be more developed than that I think. I'm pretty new to hatching myself too and it's hard to take out eggs second guessing yourself. I have 3 polish eggs in lockdown now that I'm just not that clear on but guess we'll see. 7 out of 8 is awesome!

Here's a handy chart for egg candling. 712cbd6082fc6c159e064f4955244d20b03ba0b6_1_690x413.jpg

Hmm, my eggs all looked like Day 12 of this chart on day 9, and looked like day 15 on day 12. I guess i’ll just have to wait and see what happens. I’m fairly certain the one egg is a dud, and if that’s the only one, I will be more than pleased with the viability of my mail order eggs.

I figured as much as well, though, according to the chart above, it looks like it could just be a few days behind? I don’t know if that’s possible, though I do know my humidity has dropped to the 35% range for a couple hours twice. Not sure how that’s going to affect things :(

Welp...we haven't had a power outage in literally years, and tonight, there was a power outage. I heard everything in the house click off and I leaped out of bed and threw a blanket over the incubator.
When the power kicked back on, about an hour and a half later, the incubator read 88F with the eggs themselves reading 91. It was for a very short time but that's quite a dip.
Will they be okay?
Edit to add this is the 5th day in the incubator.

That egg looks to be a quitter. There appears to be a small pool of blood where the egg had started development and then stopped. Sorry- I know it's such a disappointment. I get quitters with every hatch so far (I started with 45 eggs this go round, and due to quitters I'm down to 35 eggs at Day 10).

It will be fine. A hen while get off her eggs at least once a day to eat, drink etc. So you shouldn't have a problem.

If it was super warm during delivery they might have started development early, so you might see chicks a couple days before you expected. The veins looked nice and healthy in your pictures (except for the clear one with the blood ring).
