I couldn't help myself and set the candler on the eggs while the incubation light was off yesterday. So far all are still alive and moving. ^.^
We had another power outage today. Funny how we never had them and now, when I set eggs, we're suffering them. It lasted a little over a hour. Again I was asleep and woke up at once and threw a blanket on the incubator. I wasn't too worried this time but the house got reduculiously hot and I couldn't go back to sleep. living on 2 hours of sleep now. @.@
Power cuts & freak weather! Incubators attract both - tee hee!

It happened! One of the babies fully hatched overnight!

:celebrateALL SEVEN HAVE EXTERNALLY PIPPED!:celebrate

I am so freaking excited! Last night before going to bed I set up the camera to take a time lapse video of the incubator, just in case. I took a guess on which one would be first to hatch to point the camera at and I got it exactly right! Enjoy these 20 seconds of miracle :love

On a side note, I am still a bit concerned for one of the babies. She seems to have pipped quite far from the air sac. I can see her beak through the hole, and she is breathing, so I’ve left her alone for now. :fl

That's great. All that worry for nothing. I wanted to reassure you yesterday but I had to leave and didn't get around to it.
Thanks for the video.
I got 5 chicks out of 8 eggs a few days ago. 3 more due on Sunday.
I set 24 eggs on the 15th but I don't expect a lot from them. 13 of them had been sat on by a broody hen and she wasn't covering them well and finally abandoned them. I've already removed 3 leakers from that bunch. One of the sat on eggs is completely full on candling yesterday. There is some growth in some of the others. We'll see.

Day 14 here. I see great development in all but one egg. That last one is a mystery, but it doesn't smell, so I'm leaving it for now.

Soooooo "eggcited" that today is lockdown day. Started with 42 eggs (full capacity on my Little Giant incubator)- 20 have made it to lockdown and show movement when I candled. Woot woot! Fingers crossed that I'll have 20 little cuties hopping around before the weekend is gone.

YAY! This so exciting! I love being able to share this experience with others who understand the excitement.
