Yesterday we hit a high of 28C on the island with 29C forecast for today. We also get an almost constant sea breeze so neither we nor our chooks are suffering too badly through the heatwave but how are the rest of you doing? Brissie was in the low 30's yesterday but no breeze. I had to go to the mainland & freaked, worried about my birds but our temps stayed well below that. Today I watered down their run & let them out early so they could get into the deepest shade before the heat really kicks in. What are your temps like & how are you doing?

  2. I'm in NC and it's pretty cold here; almost freezing!

If 30C=86F is considered a heatwave, I need to move to Australia

Nope. People west & south are in the 40s & 50s ~ that's the heatwave. We are pretty much missing it where I am but I feel for those enduring it.

Never gets that cold where I am but our humidity can go through the roof.

Ahh, 28 would be so good at the moment. It reached 44C at work and 38C at home today. Luckily my chook pens have good foliage coverage from some star jasmine trees :) ... they barely even noticed.

Star Jasmine over the chook pens: what a lovely idea!
