Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Sorry for your loss Sydney. Sometimes it feels like you are fighting a loosing battle. You can't save them all and death is part of life. That is nice of your mum to give extra ground. We just found poor rusty with a big open gash to his front leg. Guess that means we are scratching from next weekends one day event.
It's hot here and we had to wait till late to bring the goats up . They get their pedicure, worming and haircut tomorrow. Going to be hotter tomorrow.

Well guys, sadly my little cockrel didn't make it

.. Learning lots about life and death, I nursed the little guy until he quietly passed in his towel nest.. He was so weak and I knew there was nothing I could do after trying everything for him.

Then I almost packed it all in and turn the incubator off because of the mess the healthy chicks are making of the lawn that their coop is over and the food that they waste, my god! So much wasted crumble! They scratch or push it out with their beaks and then it goes smelly and moldy on the grass and turns into a think mud type thing.. Mum sensed I was clearly upset and feeling defeated so she has kindly offered me a piece of her land

hahaha next weekend we gonna clear out a patch of her garden and convert it into the "nursery" and make it similar to the coop.

Hope everyone had a not so stressful Aus weekend haha

Poor things must be thinking we make a mockery of their job hahaha they all know they're very special and strong and then they get dressed up for public holidays haha

Lol, my kids used to love to dress up their horses , the favorite was knights horses. Jess won a trophy/rug on the weekend. It's hot pink! Rusty looks like a real poonce in it. The things we do to our poor horses!

Oh wow...do you work with the mounted police in Redfern? I'd like to organse a chool excursion there! I went there years ago, it's wonderful!

Hope Rusty's leg is not too bad Fancy. Did it need stitches? I hate the feeling it have me when my mare was injured. We couldn't show her due to the barb wire damage darn idiot thought it was funny to sic his Shepard on to her. She ran threw it. He didn't think it was so funny when dad camped out with a shot gun an scared the bee geesus out if him he never came back and he paid the vet bill.

I loved our angora goat Sarah we had fun with her when I was little. Are yours friendly fancy? Sarah was like a puppy

We only have straight wire with a sight line Sam. I hate Barbed wire and ring lock is just as bad. Looks like rusty's has put his leg through the wire playing with the horses on the other side. He's bandaged up and hopefully he won't be out too long because she has her qualifier for nationals in less than a month.
One of my angoras is very friendly , but only with me and her pony. I call her wombles, she puts her head in my lap for a face scratch.

Hi Meg I work for the Command that they come under.. So I don't work at the stable in Redfern I'm just down the road at Surry Hills but every Tuesday they have tours or for an excursion I'm sure they'll do it when suits you.. There's a little museum there and it is the oldest Mounted Unit in the world ;) lots of info there haha and who knows I might be able to swing by! I get there whenever I can but whenever to do I get given a mountain of work haha
