Well I just put sand on the floor of my roost shed as everything else seemed to bring in mites. Hopefully the sand wont be as livable in for the mites?

I haven't used sand before, was worried they might try to take a sand bath in it. How do you find it?
There is basically no odor with this stuff,  although I only have two chickens.

What breed are your 2 chooks?

I was told they were silkie cross bantam australorp. Im not sure though, I'm not even sure what sex they are yet. They do have 5 toes, black skin and feathers on their feet, but their wing feathers are mostly normal. I'm very attached to them regardless, felt terrible putting them outside to sleep in the coop at night.
