Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Start of latest hatch. 12/13 marans hatched and only 2 quails so far but more pipping.

There nothing like watching them screech and squeal as they roll and play in the wet gum leaves just after it's rained.
Well this unusual weather pattern is playing havoc with the animals. I have a dead goat this morning . Bloat is something we normally have to check for in spring, but there has been fresh growth on the paddocks and it's unusually high in protein heading into winter. 2 partridge Silkie chicks hatched overnight, so I guess with every ending there is a beginning.

Sorry for the loss of your goat fancy:( Gratz on your new silkie babies though :)

I megacakes, just wondering who this person is who has the runnerducks, im guessing he/she is in Australia? cos I've been looking for someone to get fertile runnerduck eggs from, and was wondering about this person?
hey Crazy...she's in Sydney. Not sure of she's ever hatched any ducklings...it's all about the eggs for her! I will ask if she's interested in selling some. How do you know if they are fertile?

Adorable hatchies and lovely chooks everyone

@satay - Squirt looks like a ball of fun. I have a Green Cheek Conure named Jive myself .

So my Dorking, Bubbles, who had a horrid eye infection for weeks and who I thought I was going to have to put down, laid her first egg yesterday. Lovely white colour.

coolies! if you have a drake then the eggs should be fertile, but you cant really tell unless you crack them open or incubate them
