Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

My husband wants a goat - but I'm the handbrake and told him no.  I'm worried my dogs would see it as dinner

Lol, more likely the other way round. My momma goat went after my GS when she has kids. Nearly broke her back, needless to say , the dog stays away from the goat. The ridgeback hides behind me if the goat so much as looks at her. Woos.

One of my Dalmatians chases my Appy mare when she's fresh and has a zoom around the yard - so I'm worried he may do the same to a smaller goat and get a bit overexcited and hurt it.
He and my other Dal have helped themselves to 3 of my hens.

I have some questions for you all. As you know, my chicks I hatched before Easter will be 7 and 6 weeks old on Friday. At what age could I integrate them with the others?
They are currently in wire dog crates in the coop at the moment, so they are getting some interaction with the bigger girls. Most are fully feathered, just the RIR quad that's slow, but they are going to their new home once they're 8 weeks anyway. Both hatches are still with their respective surrogates, but I plan to let the hens out for good on the weekend without the babies.

If they are going in a week or so I wouldn't bother integrating with yours. Move their box to a sheltered part of the garden and let them have ' supervised ' playtime. I let mine out at 4-30 for a stretch , knowing full well that at nightfall they will return to the hutch.
