Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

it's not here. :(

I have broken the r-com already. :( The water pump seems to have stopped working,, while getting up to lockdown humidity. Any thoughts by r-com people?

Its so light rexy but better than nothing., Have you tried the button on the machine to see if it will pump anything? Hold it down and it should start pumping. Other than that i don't know sorry. Maybe Ash might be able to help.@Ashburnham

Mmm, tried that, and it doesn't go. At 55 % for lockdown, that will be high enough, and the outside humidity is high, so no drama for this hatch, due Monday. Will try a couple of things once this hatch is finished.

Great enclosure Venetta - did you have to build it yourself? We have just been through that pain & it's harder than it looks for something that is essentially a frame with wire mesh attached!
I don't know anything about horses, but those are beautiful pics Fancy. She sure look like a big & beautiful horse.
My pullets are approaching 18 weeks & as they are not finished their feed I gave them separate shell grit. They scarfed it down which I wasn't expecting because there is plenty of grit in their run. I'll move to layer feed soon, but I was wondering about the pullets that take ages to lay. I presume the added calcium is ok for them?

Gout is a real possibility when feed contains 3% or more calcium. I feed a micro pellet that's only 1.8% calcium . If I see egg shells that are soft I add calcium on ' free take ' .

If you offered it separately they will regulate their own intake. No need to worry about them. Because my flock is mixed age the big girls have organic starter with the little girls and then the extra calcium on the side. I have never seen the little girls take any but the big girls take what they need. Never have a calcium problem with the eggs :)

Nice. If you ever consider selling eggs let me know. Hubby will be coming through your way to pick up a truck soon.

They are not laying at the moment but will keep it in mind.

This article on calcium is more explanatory .

You may need to replace the short length of tubing inside the pump... Try holding the button down first to see if it will pump maunually.
