Omg thats way too cold . So does the aov only happen at local shows? You would think the standard would be the same aust wide. So are they judged as a mutt breed then or just a say leghorn still but non standard colour? So if I had a blue and another non standard colour would they go against each other? Sorry for the million questions not something I have thought about before.

As far as I can tell they are still judged in their breed category, but as a colour not yet recognised . When my daughter took ' Jaffa ' to a show he took out best AOV , because he's a red partridge . The only colours on the day that were in contention for ' best in breed ' were white and black.

Lovely horses and of course handsome Silkie, Fancy.

I've been letting the chicks out with the hens during the day and all is going well. The Welsummer who had the big brood wants less and less to do with hers, but the Wellie who hatched the bantam Rocks still mothers her lone chick.

The RIR quad will be off to their new home in a week or so. I'll miss them, especially the roo.

That'll leave me with the 2 Orpies and bantam Rock I'm keeping.
