Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

No worries. This may be showing my age, but when I was younger we used to watch Barbara Woodhouse.

Anyone is a improvement on her methods.

I think Cesar has some valid points too, but there are some methods he uses that I don't like. But I don't think every method works on every dog either, some dogs respond better to only getting positive reinforcement, but for some dogs, punishment works too. If a dog would ever bite me, I don't think positive reinforcement methods would be as effective positive punishment, eg. biting the dog back and making it submit. Then again, doing that to a super dominant dog might be a bit dangerous. And I've had good experiences using negative reinforcement techniques for calming down hyper puppies.

About the fart egg, did you break it open and check the inside, @appps ? If it's just a fart egg it probably won't have a proper yolk. Also, have you tried ice packs with the broody? I thought they sort of worked for me earlier this fall.

I realise there is a for sale section but unsure how many perth/australian people actually check it considering a majority of the people on here are from the US. So i apologise if this is against the rules.

I have a lovely young australorp rooster which i need to find a new home for as we live in suburbia and unable to keep him, as much as we would like to. He is about 13 weeks old now and just the other day we heard him crow for the first time, since then we haven't heard him do it again. However i'm sure he will start crowing on a regular basis.

He is super friendly and will coming running up to us when we go outside or let him out of the coop.

Would love to see him go to a lovely family with other chickens. Don't want him to end up as someones dinner :)

Please PM me if you are interested.

What is a fart egg exactly?
Is there anything wrong if a chicken produces one?
Usually you get them when pullets are starting to lay, they're only learning to produce eggs. The fart egg, or wind egg, can also form around a small blood clot that is mistaken for a yolk. One every once in a while isn't a problem, or young birds learning to lay having them, but if a consistent layer suddenly only starts making them there might be something wrong.

Here's one I got last week, you can see there isn't a proper yolk in there. This one weighed 11 grams.

Michael you maybe better off buying one. That way u have warranty and is be a little concerned over buying second hand as there may be undisclosed issues with thermostats and temperature variances.

I don't see many incubators for sale other than new.

I use this one for 5 hatches then needed to use it as an emergency brooder heater by putting bricks under each end. I am now upgrading as I had issues with it last hatch. ( hatch 6) probably cause I shouldn't have used it as a brooder

I do note some people have had bad experiences with this brand

Yeah that's the one I borrowed. It's temp and humidity were both out by a fair bit and when I googled that was the main complaint. It's probably fine as long as you have a second way to get those so you can adjust to correct.
