Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Thanks Satay.  I'll look them up.  At least some place is panicking.  I tend to think you prepare better if you are worried.  I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.  Our camping gear is ready for when the power goes out.  I'm trying to convince DH to dismantle the trampoline, but no luck so far.  It's the wind that worries me too.  Although after the bulldozers there are a few less trees to worry about.

yeah I'd be tying down the trampoline and put anything loose in a shed. Stay away from windows. If it gets extreme hide in the most central part of the house under quilts or mattresses.

(I lived in darwin)

Heh, I work for the Bureau of Meteorology, so I'm kind of equally freaked out by the QLD and the NT cyclones and the fact they're sort of sandwiching everything up between them. Going to be some crazy storm swell out there.

(Mind you, cyclone Lam? Eeee. Marcia somehow doesn't grab me either).

go to bundaberg and see the freak out! After 2 big floods you would think they're used to it. Nope! Panic everywhere.

My mum has been told no work tomorrow so she panic shopped for beer since there was no milk left.

After the 2011 floods I understand why people panic. Unless you have lived it its not easy to understand.

I was there for the first floods and my aunty lost her house in the 2nd. No point buying 10 bottles of milk if your power goes out. The only people who should be loading up is the north and east side of bundy. They get cut off from everything. The rest still have access to sugar land.

At least I haven't heard of complaints about prices being put up cos of it.

I agree on that one. Bread was $15 a loaf out here in 2011.I made my.own. people do go crazy on milk, bread etc. I have as usual stocked up on nothing ..I'm a wing it kinda gal.
