Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I'll have to get that recipe Sam. Looks like you guys should be battening down the hatches and warming up the ark. Did you see the 2 full sized sailing ships on the set of the Pirates of the carribean ? If they get as much rain as forecast they might just set sail. You should at least see some green grass satay. :/

:lau That I should :)

Going be an interesting day. It's coming down in buckfulls at the moment and the cyclone hasnt crossed the coast yet. Not much wind yet that I am pleased about. Think I
m gunna ban hubby from work today. If the highway goes under here he will be stuck there. See how much luck I have with that one . Edited to add no luck he went to work stubborn man.. Lets hope he doesn't get stuck in fernvale for the night.

It's absolutely bucketing down here too. So far my kids schools are open and hubby has already had a call not to go into work. The brissy transport system will definitely flood seeing as it has flooded without a tropical low hitting it.
Last night I had managed to work out that it would be a tropical low by the time it hit here and would only arrive on Saturday. It's slowed down some more so even later now, but it will be interesting to see how it differs from what we are getting at the moment it's raining so hard.

We brought everything on the patio inside yesterday, including a cane toad that hopped into my sons bedroom with two cats in hot pursuit just after midnight and Steve woke up the neighbourhood at 5:15am complaining loudly and continuously about not being able to free-range.

Somewhere between cat 1 and low by the time it hits Toowoomba tonight about 7pm they are saying so far. I'm about to let my girls out. They can choose to range it or stay inside.

I just ran into a bloke here in the lifts who does the communications side - he stayed back working until 4am (he's senior management, so everyone under him will have as well). He looked absolutely trashed. He seemed to be of the opinion that all the chaotic stuff will be over by midday - doesn't mean the danger will be, just means they'll know exactly the shape of it all and it'll be predictable by then. Apparently it's all hairy until they know exactly what's going on, and the communications can be freaky too - if it changes suddenly, they need to change hundreds and hundreds of alerts and get feedback to prove that people heard, etc.

Mine will be staying inside their coop or run which is covered. The water level was up to the patio this morning when it was bucketing down. It turns out that the chooks have dammed the lawn with all the soil they have dug out of the raised beds behind the run. Our lawn is flat, but we are on a hill so the water needs to pass on either side of the run to get to the hill down the front garden. Hubby has dug a channel out on either side of the run and the pic is of the lower water level. If I let the critters out, they will spend the day pooping on the patio which I hosed down yesterday after everything was removed. No chance.

for everyone in it's path, particularly where it hits land!

We were supposed to be going to see my sister in buderim tonight but I don think that's a good idea, it's pretty wet here but just drizzling no heavy rain or extreme winds as yet, my mum went earlier in the week so at least my sister won't be alone when it hits. My son is at school but a few parents are keeping their kids home. My mental state couldn't handle that!

Depression sucks, 5 years I've been trying to kick it, but every time I get ahead it drags me back down. Annoying thing is I actually like my life, no reason at all to be "unhappy" but unfortunately depression doesn't care how good your life is, thank god for chooks, they give me an escape when it all gets too much, and I have a new found joy in gardening thanks to the chooks getting me outside :)
