Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

LOL .. Enablers! ;)

So, I took the little guy to my Vet to check for a microchip and he had one.  They have left a message on both contact numbers.  He apparently comes from a rural location half way between the Gold Coast and Brisbane and we are thinking because he is desexed, microchipped, registered and did not have one flea on him, he could be skinny because he is a working dog.  He did sit and drop on command and also shook hands ;)    Either that or he has been missing for a while.

Anyways, because he would have to spend the night in our carport on a rope, my Vet will take him for a couple of days free of charge, feed him etc and hopefully the owner will call them.  The Vet is going to let me know what happens and also ring me before they have to send him off to the pound.

I have the ad on Gumtree, a call into Council, a post on the Queensland Lost Pet Register Facebook page and registered him with found pets at the RSPCA; so hopefully I will have a happy ending to deliver very soon.

What am I going to do with the two cans of dog food I bought? :D  :/

You could always feed it to hubby on toast.:p I'm just joking :lau I would do as Fancy suggested.

Good morning friends

potato chip it would be about 50-60kms away.

I am really intrigued to know what his story is and have been making up all these scenarios in my head.

Thinking if he is a working dog, he may have jumped off or out of his owners ute/car etc when they were ‘in town’. He could have wandered that far over time. He may have been sold on and his microchip details not updated or he even could have been stolen.

Anyways, I am so hoping that today brings good news and he has been reunited.

Thanks for the info. We've tried very hard to keep vermin out (wire and concrete everywhere) and our coop has just been re netted so hopefully birds can't get into the coop. The only thing we can eradicate is flies and mosquitoes but I am doing the deep litter now and I hang a couple of sticky bug strips in the coop and that seems to help.
I not in a huge hurry for more hens  and the grandkids loved hatching eggs. So I might find some more fertile eggs.

Sounds like you are taking all the measures necessary . :)
Paul will like these.
