Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

First - a :welcome  to you tishywoo ... this is a wonderful thread, and much is learned here.

Re : reply / posts etc. .... Every time you come to BYC and this ( or any ) thread - you must sign in.   Otherwise there is only one option - which is 'reply'  .... once you have signed in with user ID and password, and all options come up - do the following :

Click on the 'quote' as Fancy mentioned ... and when that appears in a new reply box at the bottom of the page, [ and it should do so in a lighter grey area ] - put your cursor beneath all that and begin your reply / comment.   As I have done here.   I note you have had to resort to a new 'reply' to say 'thanks' to Fancy - even though her comment came up in a reply box for you, which you then submitted.

Like so much else, it is easy once you get the hang of it.   Occasionally though, BYC has a few problems with different browsers being used ... but it has behaved itself for the past month or so, so fingers crossed.

Hoping to see you here often ...

Cheers -

Am i doing it right this time? I was permanently logged in buy having phone problems.

Anyway I'm happy to report my cold brooder is so far working well, chicks are as warm as toast. I've been putting them outside during day as it's in the low 30's and bringing them in at night. Yesterday I had to leave them outside, overnight, locked up as we had emergency (hubby had heart attack) and they were fine. Now I have to leave them for a week asi haveto go to Brissie to see hubby in hospital, but I'm really happy with the way they are going. Photos when I'm not so stressed

I really hope it doesn't hit 45 for you, god how awful. If it does, I hope you and your chookies get through it ok. It's actually really pleasant here in Brisbane at the moment, nothing out the ordinary like they predicted. I hope a cool change comes your way soon though.

Gave my girls some tuna in springwater as a treat yesterday. Chickens do not smell good after eating tuna lol, though who does. At least the smell wasn't as bad as having a friendly cat give a big fishy yawn right in your face :sick
Thankfully it only got to 40.4c but it is still 40c at 3.15pm

Best wishes for your hubby to make a speedy recovery. It must be such a terribly stressful time for you . :hugs

First tishywoo ...... best of good wishes for your hubbys' speedy recovery. ... You must be very stressed at this time, and can only say I hope you find each day is good
progress for him, which will help you relax a bit more. Easy saying 'relax', difficult to do though.

And yes, you did the reply correctly ... ... I don't use my phone, only the PC ( mainly ) and occasionally my iPad which can give me a bit of trouble at times.

All good thoughts and wishes coming your way - -

I am sorry to here your husband had a heart attack. I hope he gets better quick and gets home soon. Good luck with the chicks. Try not to stress (easy to say)

So you don't want your three French hens for Christmas LuckysMum?

I hope the rehoming is going ok, no noise complaints or anything from the neighbours so far?

Tishywoo, I hope your husband recovers well, and glad your chicks are doing ok

And Teila if your lurking, feel better soon too.

Thank you all so very much for your well wishes … I’m back and allowed to type; I missed you sooo much

I will spare you all the boring details but in a nutshell, on the Friday had a scare with more chest pains > Emergency > Inpatient > multiple tests, including angiogram > narrowing of artery did not require stent and treatable with medication and lifestyle changes > discharge after 6 days and recovery > going back to work next Thursday. Angiogram was done through both the wrist and then the groin for a further test where they use drugs to put the heart under stress which had to be the scariest 2-3 minutes of my life; I can not explain what that felt like but do not want to experience anything like that again. Right now I feel like I have been dragged through a hedge while doing pin cushion impersonations

Who knew bruises could come in quite so many colours

I do have to give hubby a pat on the back here … while obviously not to my usual standards, he did a great job of looking after the girls. He even nursed Dusty through a broken soft shell. Early Tuesday morning he sent me a picture of them mooching in the garden which, after 5 days of not seeing them, had me in tears

Anyways, I am home, I am recovering and life is getting back on track.

I have read but not replied to everyone’s posts; my posts are wordy enough and if I replied to 8 pages of posts it would take 8 hours and you would most likely fall asleep after 8 lines

Also, not skipping over and saving the best thread til last, I have run out of ovations.

Anyways, congrats to those with new bubbies, both chickies and duckies

MyHaven I am so very sorry to hear of your loss; I can only imagine what a horrific and scary scene that would have been for you

Congrats on your new grandson LuckysMum .. love the gift wrapped chicken!
