Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I have been spending most of this week trying to keep my poor chickens cool. Who's of though i'd be doing that in spring. 36c last Saturday 39c Sunday and 38c Monday. Tomorrow is suppossed to be over 40c... (our average September temp is 26c)..
It's been a struggle up here in the top end too... our build up has started early again this year and it's HOT. it's been the usual 36+ everyday... can't wait til wet season starts!!

It's going to be a long hot summer. We went out to the north west coast with 60 navy divers from all over Australia and most, if not all were impressed with the snow at lake Sinclair. Unfortunately I got influenza A and have been in bed since.

I'm also a Tasmanian! I miss that beautiful crisp cool air and the year round green bush. I love the Northern Territory but Tasmania will always be home.

Fancy I wonder if any of them new my dad he is 80 next year. It is a small world.
My husband lived in Darwin many years ago he was in the army then. He went to visit his mum in England and someone said to him "oh your from Australia our son is there." Paul laughed because most people they don't realise how big Australia is. It turned out he did know him it was a man he did marshal arts training with in Darwin.

There were a few guys that had served in Vietnam. There are several ex clearance divers here in tassie, but it was nice to catch up with the Sydney and Perth gang. The diving branch is a very small group and I'm sure your dad's name would have been mentioned as they were recounting their adventures.

I'm from Wollongong but have lived in most states as a result of defence postings. We chose tassie because of its lovely countryside , people and climate. The mornings have been fresh and the grass is growing before my eyes. We've been here for 18 years now, love it. Doing the Gordon river cruise and witnessing the world heritage area with my own eyes was definitely something to tick off ' the bucket list ' .

Fancy this is the first one 4 more pipping:wee
