4 hatched, 4 pipped I can't see the 5th one very well. 2 light and 2 dark when they dry I'll post some more photos. I'm not getting much done I keep looking at the incubator.

Haha, I know the feeling well. Nose stuck on incubator .4 hatched, 4 pipped I can't see the 5th one very well. 2 light and 2 dark when they dry I'll post some more photos. I'm not getting much done I keep looking at the incubator.
K Riggs I have a few chickens pipping and I'm putting my duck eggs into lock down
Its day 23 of incubation and I was told you put ducks in lock down then. Does anyone else put them down that early?
I have 10 as well. I went on a incubating and rearing site on facebook and they suggested lockdown for a duck a couple of days earlier. The incubator they are in is a bit noisier than the one the chicks are in so I'll wait till they have finished then put the ducks in there for lockdown. So it probably won't be till later tomorrow. At the moment 5 of Fancy's 9 eggs that went into lockdown have hatchedand 3 have pipped. I still can't see the other egg properly. Its funny the chicks have pushed the other eggs around but not the one I want to see. It's like they are evading it and its in the middle on the incubator.
Haha do we ever know as much as we wish. I've been second guessing myself all day and half the night. 8 silkies have hatched of the 9 that went into lockdown. Yes that one I couldn't see have finally been moved around. I think later this morning I will put the chicks under a heat lamp and see if that egg has done anything. Then I can put the ducks into lockdown. I'm excited to see what I get.
After all I've read and heard about hatching eggs that have been sent through the post I am surprised to get 8 out of 12 (2 didn't do anything 1 quitter and I'll see about the 4th).
I hope you have that much luck with the ducks K Riggs. At least with both of us hatching from the same batch we'll know if the post made a difference.
Fancy's boys and girls must be doing the right thing, and Fancy's great packaging. Thanks so much Fancy, my grand daughters are coming this morning they are so excited. I hope your feeling better now.
Glad you had such success , as I said I've had good results with post with all but the last ones I sent to Ben in WA. Nothing like baby animals to bring smiles to children's faces.Haha do we ever know as much as we wish. Woohoo. 5 splash and 3 blues. This is my beautiful 8 I have left one egg in the incubator but I don't think it will hatch. They are so tiny. All the grandkids came, but they'll have to wait till next week for cuddles. They are very excited for the ducks now. View attachment 1147912
