There are other breeds that lay blue eggs not just Arunacana.. they just seem to be the more common in Aust… and our Arunacanas are different to those in the USA…
And there I was complaining about one of my bantam EEs not laying well with 5 eggs per week!
Yes I do see the blue feathers ....parent must be a blue Araucana....
Exciting! I love sebrights!FINALLY IVE GOT A PIPED SEBRIGHT!!!![]()
Question: is the cuckoo colour sexlinked for all breeds? I have a couple chicks whom I dont know who the dad is, but a couple are starting to look cuckoo. Which would mean it was the polish rooster...
No dramas!
Thanks very much, I've always been curious how it works! I guess you don't know any way of sexing the yellow chicks at this point? I imagine I just have to be patient at this point, but its difficult
Give it another 3 weeks & you should begin to see prominent differences ....go get really busy with other things during then! Thanks very much, I've always been curious how it works! If, the seller can be trusted, they should not be hybrids, because she said they were all marans, just the colours got mixed up.No dramas!Good to know....just that @Sussex19 didn't end up with pure Maran eggs so I think it might be too early to tell as they may be hybrids...
I dunno much about Marans so not sure regarding whether yellow Maran chicks exists??If, the seller can be trusted, they should not be hybrids, because she said they were all marans, just the colours got mixed up.
and I think the ones that look cuckoo can be said to be pure? As I have read that the wheatens do crop up fairly often, as they were used early on in quite a few marans colours.
please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm more just thinking aloud here.
