Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

😂😂😂😂

And there I was complaining about one of my bantam EEs not laying well with 5 eggs per week!

Yes I do see the blue feathers ....parent must be a blue Araucana....
It's funny how different people have different expectations :gig

Apparently it was a blue Australorp x Silkie. But there's definitely Araucana in the mix too. I was told the gold hen was Wyandotte x Silkie. But I really can't say for sure.

Doesn't really matter in the end as they're really beautiful...

The black ones with the spots on their heads they are males … their sex linked
Does that work with Cuckoo Marans though? I know with some mixed breed chicks I had that had head spots, they were female.
If that is the case, oh well, it happens. Curious though, because the one without a head spot is the most 'male' like one, with thick legs and is quite bold.

Given that you got mixed eggs I think anything goes at this stage...yeah I also noticed most male chicks are bolder.

If they are barred then yes… the bigger the spot on the head the more likely to be male.. a very small to no spot is female…
