It's a dogs life! I put the girls beds out in the turning circle to hose them off.

Thanks sandee. She's a bit of a rummin, I was getting ready to take the kayak out yesterday and nearly fell over a dead wallaby at the front step. The ridgeback came to look after us when hubby was working offshore and never went home. Now they are inseparable .![]()
They are adorableOoh, thanks for this info, I had wondered the same thing. I just whacked a desk lamp in a box and put a teddy in there so they could get close to the globe for warmth. I didn't put the temp/humidity monitor in there either. I did change to a halogen globe though because they put out so much heat and I leave it on 24/7. I did have a lid on the box (cardboard+a towel) to keep the warmth in, but today I left the lid half open so the ducklings can get some natural light (but not direct sunlight). After reading all your posts about the meticulous care you take, I am amazed mine are alive at all!![]()
Yes , she looks a lot like " Elsa "
My chicken coop is under a stilted cubby house and we suspended some old guinea pig hutches for nesting boxes and it also has a roost. I am thinking about extending their coop up into the cubby house itself, so they have more room. When I let them out in the morning they climb up there and roost near the flag pole and the huge Aussie flag. I keep wanting to take photos, but when I do go out there with the camera, the chickens run away. They don't like it for some weird reason. Can chickens be camera shy?
