Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

They must be having a rest up before Christmas. It took ten days for a little postpack containing a single key to get from Toowoomba to Caboolture.

Thank you all for your wishes yesterday. They all got locked up as tight as a drum last night.

Satay, that coastal python must still be hanging around, I found a snakeskin on the front porch yesterday morning, and looks like it might be the right size and markings. Thank you for the offer of the aras. I had them because I was going to make olive eggers, but have had enough chicks around with the Marans.

Appps, I made it a little easy for the fox. Because I hadn't had any problems for so long, I got a little slack and let them roost in trees in their pen. It was great fun last night putting them in the coop. They weren't happy!!

Coastal skins are great, We have had some huge ones from mila. She will shed prob 3 to 4 times over spring/summer. We have a brown tree snake that lives in the roof. Only time you really see it is when it comes out into the tree at night to shed. Has scared a few visiotrs when it decides to hang out of the tree to say hi lol. We have some lovely green tree snakes around here too but i have yet to find a skin from one.One of the funniest things i have seen out here is my old neighbour from next door was over one day and we were sitting outside on the concrete having coffee. This beautiful green tree snake somes down a branch of the golden cane palm right in front of my face. My neighbour hates snakes so he was none to happy. I said hello beautiful It looked at me then went back up the frond. Within a mintue it comes flying down another frond straight at reg.(it stopped well short of his face) He just about fell out of his chair to getaway. He's screaming at me get the axe it's gunna kill you. Me in fits of laughter said reg it wont hurt you its a tree snake. (it was not trying to bite just saying hi). Well it dissapeared up the frond again and was gone. Reg finally calms down enough to sit back in the chair and after a bout 5 mins we hear this weird noise, then bang it falls off the gutter of the roof right on reg's feet lol. It quickly slithered off into the garden. Well that was it for reg he was out of here .. Cheekly little snake it was.

They know not what they do! I have a gold laced Wyandotte that's been sitting for 2 weeks on a golf ball.

i am sure this season my hens have gone a little mad. Went to check on the black aussie in the bananas. I try not to disturb them when they are broody but thought i better have a check to see how many eggs she is sitting on... Lift her up and see she is sitting on ...NONE. Poor girl. Might have to see if the cochins lay still giving her some of them to hatch.
lol poor girl. maybe someone took off with them....

I am off to collect Barnie eggs on Saturday from a local. Although I am only hatching this time to test the bator If they are good looking parents I may keep one or three LOL

Other than nice cooper colour eggs, lacing and yellow legs are there any other traits I should look for ?

I am going to turn this into my Brooder. The wire "Run" is not connected so I can use the stilted 'house' and put in light and food and use the run later for outside time on the grass.

We went down the road to have a look at a warm blood filly that is for sale yesterday. Couldn't resist taking some shots of their newbie. So cute, climbed all over us, sucked our fingers and hair.

Oh beautiful foal ! the little v on the nose is adorable

I now know for sure australia post is one of the slackest companies around. Just spoke to the company that was sending out the new tick stuff for the dogs as it was sent Monday and still not arrived in brissy yesterday. She gave me the tracking number for it. I look it up and the parcel has been sitting in Underwood a few suburbs from hubbys work since tuesday. It is finally showing for delivery from the slacks creek po today. Who would have thought it would take nearly 4 days to get 2 suburbs away( under 10 mintue drive) . Good on ya aust post.
