I am not hatching at the moment Satay, but thinking about it to replenish stocks after the fox attack. Just worried about the heat and if it starts raining. Also have a few cockerels around being raised for the pot, Got a dozen Marans eggs here if you want to hatch some. Will stop me putting them in the 'bator. :D

My marans must have heard me talking about them. I just went to let them out to free range and I got 3 small pullet eggs today :)

Yes. They need high protein feed to lay well.. I use laucke mills gamebird starter (non medicated) but you could use turkey starter as long as you are not going to eat the eggs or birds as most turkey starters are medicated.Try to get the highest protein feed you can find and i'm sure your eggs will increase in no time.

I'm not sure luke. I think you would take the chance of passing the medication to yourself if you ate it. Just what i have been told over the years. Maybe fancy can explain it better or Ash.
