Fake eggs do help. I just use golf balls though. It encourages new layers and shows them where to lay.
Is she just squating when you go near her? If so then yes eggs are coming soon. Shes actually doing it because...well...she wants you to mate with her!! They do it when a rooster comes near. You don't need to do anything, except maybe get a basket for all the new eggs you will be getting!!!
