Oh chook, don't you already have enough.LOL.

I think my frizzle has gone broody again actually, Mid Winter as well.
Can you help me actually.
If she really is broody, should I get some eggs to hatch or not?
If I let her go broody I might have the chance of getting mites back and I REALLY DO NOT WANT THAT! But I also really want so more chickies

!!

What would you do ?
I know even the woman I bought them off picked up on me with a comment back saying 'Sure they are for the kids LOL'
I would let her go broody if that is what she wanted.. It depends on how persistent she is being... I always make sure they are in a nice safe pen away from the others. Actually a woman suggested another great use for lawnmower catchers as nesting boxes today, that you can them just pick the broody hen up in her nesting box and move her to her new safe spot... I used to use them but now I am making some new ones were the eggs roll out the back and they can not poop on them. Also prohibits the hen I don't want to go broody from going broody. If you are worried about mites you could sprinkle diatomaceous earth in her nesting box.

The lady said there were some from Polish, Silkies and Houdan!

Oh they should be really cute. So where does the frizzle come in?
She has one of the parents being a Frizzle version of those breeds... She will confirm from chick photos which breeds she thinks I ended up with, I'm not too fussed in any case, I mainly got them because they are sooo cute!

Dust the nest boxes before she goes in to brood. If she is clear now it will be hard for them to take hold in her bedding that way

You know I dusted our nesting box and still ended up with mites on our broodie. I'd actually spray it with the fido spray and Then dust it! Can't be too careful with the rotten things! Lol
