Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Does anyone have any experience with Barter and Sons Hatchery?  Or are there any other sites that ship day olds within Australia?

I personally would try to buy day old locally if you can. Shipping day olds would be very hard on them i would think. Or get some eggs and put under a broody if you have one.

Hay, today dad got 2 bags of layer mash ( not to high in protein ) so he got a bag of meat meal ( suggested by the store ).
How much meat meal to one 20 kg bag of layer mash should I put in???

You would have to work out the protein level of both Luke. Say your mash is 15% and your meal is 27% if you did 50/50 it would work out at an average of 21% protein. Just adjust it til you get the % you want.

Well I live and learn! There's a lady on backyard poultry advertising that she's going to the mainland and has spaces to carry chooks up the east coast to QLD. I was wondering how that works. My daughter is competing at show jumping nationals in Perth and her horse has to go through quarantine , and have hendra shots and ( pardon the pun ) jump through all sorts of hoops.

Are these your's or Renise's or a mix? Did you get a idea of how your lad is doing in the fertility department?

I love those last couple of days of a hatch :)

Would anyone mind sharing their Welsummer egg pics? I am curious to know how dark they are compared to a local Maran's.
Bens-Hens - These are my some of my Welsummer eggs from a Welsummer breeder in QLD.

There's 4 in there I think, the darkest ones.

I sent the breeder a pic of them the other day as she wanted to see the colour of them. She's constantly trying to improve the egg colour.

Fancy - many places now have that Hendra requirement; all horses that competed at the Royal Brisbane this year had to have been done. I have my mare done.
