Well, I have just gone through all this Frizzle Business.lol.
My 'Frizzles' are NOT recognized as Frizzles in Australia.
In Aus, we follow the UK standard, were Pekins and Polish Frizzles are an actual breed, standard and all.
My "Frizzled Leghorns" are just crosses. They of course have the Frizzle gene but I can't sell them as 'real' Frizzles here in Australia.
Over in the US any breed can be sold as a Frizzle as long as it has the gene of course.
But if you just want birds with the Frizzle gene then yes we can swap lines.
Hi Luke, I think you are still a little misinformed.
Pekin Frizzles and Polish Frizzles are still not Frizzles. They also are a crossbreed. Frizzles have there own standard in Australia that is very different to a Pekin or a Polish. Frizzles are not meant to have feathered feet like a Pekin and they are not meant to have a crest like a Polish.
Even the weights for a purebred frizzle is very different amongst many other differences.
Large
Male: 3.2 - 3.6kg
Female: 2.25 - 2.7kg
Bantam
Male: 960 - 1070g
Female: 790 - 910g
I know you are aware that your birds are not purebred but I would like to say that they are beautiful. Polish Frizzles and Pekin Frizzles are also very beautiful however they are not purebred either. Just thought I would clarify this. Not meaning to offend just thought I would share some knowledge.
This link shows some nice examples of purebred Frizzles along with lots of information about them. Hope this helps. http://forum.backyardpoultry.com/viewtopic.php?t=7958906
