My hatch babies will be 6 weeks old tomorrow - moving up to pullet grower for them!! Friday is also hatch day for the Marans as well

Would you believe it, my Isa has gone broody AGAIN!! I don't have the facilities to be able to lock her away this time around, so what would happen if I just left her to it? Will she eventually get bored and snap out of it? I bring her out of the nesting box when I get home in the afternoons, and she quickly gets something to eat and drink, a bit of a stretch and then she's back in the box. The other two pick on her terribly, pecking at her comb....I have to tap them away with a stick!
WB Megacakes!

I have tried the "wait and hope they will stop being broody", but I had to intervene after 4 weeks and lock them away in a dog crate for a couple of days to break them. You may have to kick her off several times a day or confine her to a cage like I had to do.
Those broodies sure are a determinesd bunch!

AussieChics I so hope that does not happen!

I have worked for my current employer for just on 15 years and the thought of having to find work would just freak me out! After many many years of study and what seemed like even longer trying to find a job, my 27 year old son started a new job last week. He also is casual but still lives at home so not committed debt-wise as yet.

His cruisey days of sleeping and studying student hours are no more! It was funny on Friday to see him experience TGIF for the first time! And, boy oh boy, did I get a kick out of watching him go through his first case of Mondayitis this morning! I'm a mean Mum! lol

So, definitely not just yet, still giving the gals and myself time to settle after all we have been through the last couple of months but just putting it out there for storing in the memory banks

I have always had a yearning for a Blue Bantam Cochin (Pekin) girl and have not been able to get one from any of my hatches, sadly Tammy (who was just right) turned out to be Tommy.

So, having sworn of hatches for an extended period of time and now having all this extra room, I wonder if you could all keep me in mind if you hatch, hear of or see a Blue Pekin Pullet in the Brisbane area that might just fit the bill?

Thank you :)
