Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Satay, not really, sorry. We got some snow a week and a half ago, but it's been too warm to stick. Snowed again a bit this weekend, but that melted too. Now it's below zero, but no snow to go with the temperatures yet. I did snap a few shots on our walk in the weekend. And here's one from a bit over a week ago.
Thanks Felix. Your country side is so pretty

Those shots are from a nature preserve about 10 kilometers from us, it's called lake Meiko. We usually do a 7-10km walk there at least once a week. After our involvement in WW2, the Porkkala peninsula was rented to Russia for about 10 years. The border of that area was where that nature preserve is now. There are some old bunkers there, and some old trenches too. The place we live at is located where an old border station was, up until a few years ago border control owned our house. 50 meters from the house there are two posts marking where the border was located.

Wow . I can't imagine living in a place that has (land) borders. We do it's called ocean but that's it... Sounds like your property is in a very interesting place. :)

It has some history... but now, the closest border is about 200km from here, the Russians left this area in the fifties. We share a border with Russia, Norway and Sweden, and then we have quite a lot of seafront as well. And a proper archipelago, that's not something every country has. I imagine it's very different from Australia. You guys are just sitting there alone in that big ocean, with a tiny little kiwi producing country sitting on the island next to you. I would like to visit Australia one day, would be quite interesting. I haven't met many Ozzies, but the ones I have met were quite the ladiesmen, and they did like their beer. For some reason they all worked as bartenders.

Yes most ozzie men love their beer, or any form of alcohol. I'm not a big alcohol drinker but hubby loves his rum.

I ended up with two what I believe is a maran cross.. but I believe they are both boys. As I am not familiar with this cross breed am I correct in thinking both are boys?
