Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

@satay how old are the roos you feed her? She is beautiful!

We certainly have had some hot days here but nothing compared to last summer! Fewer and farther between and not as extreme for as long!

I am working up to the whole 'excess roosters' issue. They will be an issue at some stage! I have worked out that while I can hunt and process rabbits, I can't kill them up close. I reckon it will be the same with the roosters... processing them doesn't move me, but killing them does. I might borrow my father-in-law for a day when it is time...

About 3 to 4 week olds. She can eat between 1 to 3 at a time but can go for up to 8 months without food. She never eats over winter at all and then it takes her several months after that to decide she is hungry again. If you offer her food and she isn't hungry she just refuses to eat. Snakes go through a lot of water though.

Sounds like we are the only ones have missed summer this year. Our grass is lovely and green, have barely had any days over 30 and we are wondering why we bothered putting the pool in cause it hasn't really been hot enough to use it. This time last year I was preparing to do battle against 40 deg temps.

I'm starting to think we won't get a summer this year. Kids have gone to school twice so far wearing jumpers in the middle of summer, what's up with that!

I agree with you appps it has been a rather mild summer here for us too. No jumpers required up here but certainly no 40+ scorchers for a while either.

Good morning

Mila is beautiful. I'd love a snake, but my DH says no. It hasn't really stopped me in the past, but I think he draws the line at a snake.

I had a co-worker who owned a green tree python called Trouser

I'd love either a Diamond or a Childrens python.

Wowsers.....1500 missed posts.

Where did the time go! Hi all the former regulars. I don't have time to catch all those posts but I hope everyone is doing well.

We in Perth have coped with a late summer pretty well.

Hi everyone, still waiting (im)patiently for the first egg from the girls. Went up after dinner and gave them the scraps from the veggies (sprouts, broccoli, mushroom plus a little fatty meat) and they came running up to see what I'd brought then everyone was digging in nicely. After a little time with them went back and kept going with house stuff. Was about 5 or 10 minutes later than usual when I went to put them to "bed" for the night in their room and when I went in there they were already roosting, so just had to close & lock the outside door, say goodnight to them (with a little pat and cuddle of course) then left them for the night (after checking food & water levels). Was a pleasant surprise to find them already roosting for the night

Does anyone else have their girls do that? As in put themselves to bed? Or is it a "normal" thing?

My girls put themselves to bed. Though I can still hear them now fighting for prime position.

Oh and theyve decided my herb garden which was flourishing is the new nesting spot! Bye bye lovely herbs!
