@Teila. She is still hanging in there. Vet rang to check on her and suggested some probiotic powder which I started yesterday and she had the last of her antibiotics yesterday morning too. She still isn't eating much and is quieter than normal but did find the energy today to jump on penny and peck her for doing the broody dance and growl too close to her. She still has a large full crop each morning. So really just still waiting to see.

The poly aid plus that I recommended in previous posts will sustain her. It is high in protein, carbohydrates and probiotics. It also helps them to regain their appetite.

I do have their soluvet one but I can't even get that into her as she won't eat anything I can add it to and I've no idea how to use a crop needle. I will try and remember to call out the pet shop and see if they have the other one. I am guessing it must be something they keep in the fridge if it's got probiotics?
I wouldn't push more than ½-1ml at a time until she's swallowed, so you don't risk pushing it into her airways. It's easier to do if you have a helper, one can hold the bird and keep it calm, while the other one opens the beak and uses the (needle free) syringe. 2-3ml syringes are also great, as they fit better into the mouth.
What does Fancy think of using honey water as a homemade electrolyte solution until you get the commercial stuff?
