I don't change the water. it's in sealed 2 litre juice bottles.

Hot enough for a couple of hours in an emergency.

My primary backup is a ceramic globe on a thermostat control that comes on
if the main globe blows and the temperature drops below 28 degrees.

Ok @Fancychooklady and anyone else from down south. Please take back your winter I am really over this one. It's is so cold this morning. Current temp is 2c but with wild chill factor it says -3C at present . Snow is falling at Stanthorpe so glad I don't live there I am a summer girl after all
