Thanks, it's an interesting (to me) coincidence that both my "belters" are australorp. I thought Grace was getting murdered the way she was carrying on. She's also smaller than her "sister" Marcy, yet she's LOUD.
Babies can have lucerne, older piggies and rabbits have oaten or meadow. The lucerne is too high in calcium for adults. It's ok when they are babies, and use it for growing.
Thats right, Great looks like I've found a piggy expert. That could come in handy.

On the egg song.
Before the dynamics in the flock changed the were collectively loud. One would lay and start then they all would yell over the top of each other. It sounded like " I laid an egg, I laid an egg" "no she didn't it was me, it was me!""No it wasn't, it was me!" "No. I laid the egg, it's mine, it,s mine!" "No, I laid an egg!" "Hey I laid one too... " "me too, me too.....!" They each chimed in by the end. And it was loud.
The current group, consisting of some of the same girls sing solos or duets. Two of the current and old group are Australorps
I find the change interesting.
