Went to the vets but Mabel's bumblefoot was too small for him to want to cut it out of her foot, and it's not causing any lameness. So we'll monitor it a while, and try the epsom salt bath with some betadine and bandages if need be. I might try to keep the area clean and sanitized each night as well. Of course went I went to put Mabel in the pet carrier, I couldn't find her. I called out, and she came running from behind the coop where she and Ezzie were playing in the dirt. Had to make sure her feet were filthy especially for the vets, well done Mabel, you're a champ.

Good to hear that she may get away without having to have it cut out.
 
Wanted to share this photo of Beatrice I took fairly recently (don't think I've shared it here, if I have, whoops!). She doesn't like to push herself too hard, heaven forbid. It's tough being so cute.

Cuddles is broody at the moment. I candled her eggs last night and she has 9 developing. I only have 2 out of 9 that are laying at the minute. The rest haven't started again since all the pre Christmas hatches.
 
Hi all, another aussie here from Victoria. Have not much experience with chickens but much to gain. I recycled my old dog kennel into a coop and built a fenced run, still a work in progress but my 3 love it so far.

That's great for Cuddles, I hope the hatch goes well :) My Beatrice isn't a super serious broody so I would never bother with eggs for her. How are the chicks from your last hatch doing?
