Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I don't even have shipped duck eggs and I'm stressed so I can imagine your stress levels. What do you have for a water container in your brooder. I have a plastic 2 litre milk bottle with a hole cut in it and the little @#$%&* got in it. I made the hole smaller I'm hoping that it will ok. When will the stress end. I was worried that they were eating and not drinking enough. :he

My little fellow has spraddle leg :(

I rigged up this devicethis morning and it already seems to be really helping.

I have the bottom of a 1.25 L water bottle cut off and filled with river stones. Working great and no spillage. That will change when they get a bit bigger though then I will go to a container with a lid with the corner cut off big enough to get their head in.

I'm going to candle for internal pipping tomorrow and maybe assist a few. May as well try to save a couple more, I mean they are gonners anyway if they don't pip tomorrow.

They have the little red water dishes at Roberts for $3-$4 , I'm heading up to get a few more today. Ducks need higher levels of niacin than other poultry I'd be inclined to believe that if you have provided a non slip surface in the brooder , the parent stock may have nutrient deficiencies. Susan has 1l bottles of Anitone for about $20 . Easy to administer directly into beak or simply add to the water.
