Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I've only just caught up with the thread, @Poultry mum sorry to hear about you chicks, and glad that he's doing better. I can't really help, as that's the sort of thing that I struggle with.
@Somewhere_In_The_Clouds what kind of chickens do you get in the shows around you? Here all they seem to have is bantams, and while I don't have anything against them, they aren't really one of my interests. If there was Sussex or Orpingtons I would find it a lot more interesting.
We’ve got lots of both with them… our shows around here have a bit of everything including hard feather breeds like OEG and modern game… I’m actually starting to find them quite interesting… but I love my soft feather breeds…

We had very little show up due to wet weather, closed roads, etc. It was majority hard feathers and their bantam counterparts. Other than my three sussex there was a pair of light sussex bantam.

Hey @Poultry mum, Tom & Jerry squeal like piglets when they whinge!! 😂😂😂

Seriously I think my neighbors suspect I'm running a backyard farm with noisy chooks & now pigs!!!
Omg that’s funny as…
Here’s a photo of my new chicks named kiko and Sachi (meaning hope and miracle in Japanese)

What a pair of cuties :love
I have my Barnevelder eggs hatching now! I was so worried they'd all died after I lost power for awhile.
I'm enjoying reading about the hatches! I got a few eggs from the family up the street who have a rooster and gave them to a broody. One week to go, but I'm not expecting much. Last time only one egg out of four was fertile.

I've had an amazingly successful hatch this time. I don't know whether it's thanks to my new incubator and/or really good fertility in the eggs I bought.
Out of the 18 buffs eggs I put in 16 hatched, one DIS and the other didn't develop or was infertile. I put a dozen Barny eggs in and am at 9 already!
