Forewarned is fore-armed. I forget who wrote that but it applies well to Australian summers, which I think many Aussies have a sense of struggling against.

I wouldn't be surprised. By the way, I'm fairly new to keeping chooks so I'm full of questions... Have you ever known a chook to die from spider bite?

Um that’s a good question! I’ve had one Be paralysed in its leg so it had to be put down but from what who knows? But chickens usually know when to avoid a snake so I can’t imagine they would try to step on a spider

And, now I'm thinking about it, a spider would struggle to bite through scaley legs and fluffy feathers. So death by spider would have to be a rarity.

Sydney has copped nearly 50 degree heat, we have to make ice cubes for my hens to keep them cool, Aussie summers
This is the worst bit of Summer is when they are so hot that you have to bring birds inside, I just had a chick die on me

So sorry about the chick.
