Australorp Pride! Let's see those pics!

I loved looking at the photos. I have one Aussie due to arrive this week with 3 other chicks. Basically a newbie I did order a barred rock as I had one long ago that was so sweet. Thanks to coyotes they didn't survive being teens and this is my foray back into chickens.

Good luck with your new babies!! :-)

Thanks. Brooder is ready though will move them to a somewhat bigger one after a couple weeks. The coop ground breaking was today though haven't progressed very far thanks to mud and helping out a neighbor. So tilled up so hopefully dry enough in the next couple days to till again and level.

Roos are a totally different ball game.

But Aussie Roos are gorgeous!
I hate pictures of my rooster Coq Au Vin all over my blog and on the rooster thread here on BYC, but when we had our rooster Floki ... he was positively magnificent! Looked like a model for a weather vane ... Regretfully, I don't have a 'good' picture of him. This is a pic of he and I sorting out our differences.

Good luck! Did you see my new tractor? We call it the Maximum Security Detention Center for Loved Birds! They are safe at night! We still have to improve the fenced area that we move when we move the tractor. Not very predator proof, yet.

Cute little tractor!

My broody BA has some eggs she's sitting on due on June 17th. The others are her looking dead but she's as happy as can be

Good luck with her hatch!! Aussies make wonderful momma's, very devoted and gentle. :-)

Haha, when she got off her nest she'd make her broody clucks which made the other chickens uneasy for some reason, I don't know why but they don't walk when their broody they have to run and flap everywhere anyway she's was aggressively taking a dust bath with the other hens and she all of a sudden stood up and kinda well screamed, that startled the other chickens so bad that the stood up and ran thinking it was a predator and that got them to start clucking their scared clucks when all along it was my crazy and I mean crazy broody BA hen named Reagan by the way
