Australorp rooster?

pretty “boy”(?) we purchased a couple of months ago. I thought he was an Australorp but his comb doesn’t match. White wing feathers.

Any ideas? We have a pullet (purchased at the same time.) They look identical except she has all black feet and no white feathers.
Currently around 8 weeks I believe.

I've had several Australorp over the years that had a white wing feather. So that wouldn't mean anything. But the comb appears to be more of a pea comb or rose comb. At 8 weeks he should have a vary obvious single comb with points. I would guess that he is a mixed breed. But on the positive side, Australorp roosters are usually very nice roosters to keep even if they are mixed breed.

Good to know! We have given up trying to rehome our roosters and luckily they are all pretty well behaved so far.

Definitely not an Australorp.

Probably an olive egger cockerel, then, although it's not totally clear at this point. Watch the comb/wattles closely in the next few weeks. If they continue to grow and get more color in that time frame, then most likely a cockerel. If not, it may be a pullet. Birds with pea combs and solid coloring can be more tricky to sex.
