ANYONE ELSE HAVE A GUESS FOR ME ON HEN? ROO?
BTW - one of them (pretty sure the smaller one) is still dropping intestinal lining and/or blood in the poo. They finished their treatment dose of corrid on Friday. On Saturday the sheds started again this time it's been at least a little every day so I've decided to go ahead and follow the advice that dawg 53 gave someone in a similar situation which was stop the maintenance dose of the corrid, give probiotics and protein for three days then worm. If that doesn't do it I'm lost.

corid is supposed to be give for a second course of 5 to 7 days at half strength after the first course of 5 to 7 days at full dose. The second dose allows them to build up immunity.

Give the B vitamins--corid depletes it.

The one on the right looks like a cockerel at 14 weeks.

Got it, did it. I stopped the maintenance dose after three days so I can do the worming because it has become clear that cocci was not the problem after all. Had to give them the vitamins in cat food. Would you believe these two won't eat eggs??? Scrambled or hard boiled, silly chooks.

The poor things need lots of love and care. Yes, worm them like Dawg53 said to.

Usually between 4 and 6 weeks when the wattles and combs start to develop. The feet and legs will be larger on the cockerels than the pullets. Truthfully, we have all been fooled before with late bloomers,it happens. I have a 7 week old right now that falls somewhere in the middle of the cockerels and pullets for development so there you go????? time will tell however.

LOL. I have no reason to suspect this one is a cockerel. Was sexed by the hatchery as a pullet but you know.... Nearly impossible to get a picture of her legs as she poses sitting down! But I haven't noticed that the legs are thick looking. She is 5 weeks exactly in these pictures.

Leg Shot. She is the black chick on the top of the ramp.
